Nearest station
・"JR Shinjuku Station" (10-minute walk from the West Exit).
・"Tochomae Station" on the Toei Oedo Subway Line.
・Take the Toei Bus (Tocho Junkan) from "Shinjukueki Nishiguchi" bus stop at the West Exit of JR Shinjuku Station (underground bus terminal) and get off at "Tocho Daiichi Honchosha" (TMG No. 1 Building), "Tocho Daini Honchosha" (TMG No. 2 Building) or "Togikai Gijido" (Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Building).
・Take the Shinjuku WE Bus bound for "Nishi Sandou" from the "Shinjukueki Nishiguchi" bus stop at the West Exit of JR Shinjuku Station and get off at "Shinjuku Washington Hotel".

- The North Observatory will reopen on January 30, 2025. The South Observatory will be closed from February 3 to April 2025.
- November 15th Important
- The South Observatory will open on January 1st, 2025. The opening hours are from 7:30 to 17:30. You can enter the observatory by 17:00.
- September 30th Important
- The North Observatory will be closed from Friday, November 1, 2024 to January 2025. The South Observatory will remain open (except for the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month).

- The South Observatory will be closed starting Saturday, September 1, 2018 due to remodeling work on the TMG Buildings.
It is scheduled for a renewal opening around spring of 2019.
- January 4
- Regarding the temporary closure of the employee cafeteria (TMG No.1 Building 32F). It will be closed temporarily starting Thursday, January 4, 2018 due to remodeling work done on the TMG Buildings. It is scheduled for a renewal opening around fall of 2018.
- December 9
- Applications for entrance to the Observatories for viewing the first sunrise of the New Year (5:30 am to 7:30 am on January 1) has ended. We would like to thank everyone for applying. The observatories will be open on January 1 from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm (last admission at 5:00pm). For details, please see the Observatories' web page.
- November 20
- The Japan Prefectural Tourism PR Corner will close temporarily from Friday, December 1, 2017 to Saturday, March 31, 2018 due to remodeling work.
The corner will reopen in April 2018 on the first floor of TMG No. 1 Building on the south side.

- Back by popular demand, the TMG Observatories will be open on January 1.

- The oversized vehicle parking, motorcycle parking lot and TMG visitor bicycle parking lot, which were partially closed due to construction work, will fully reopen on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. We apologize for the inconvenience caused during construction.
- September 4
- The Tokyo Tourist Information Center and Made-in-Tokyo Specialty Items Store will be relocated to the first floor of TMG No. 1 Building on the south side from Monday, September 4, 2017 due to remodeling work. Cafe "Hokuto" will temporarily close and cafe "Minami" will reopen on the first floor of TMG No.1 Building on the south side.

- The TMG visitor bicycle parking lot will be relocated from Saturday, August 19, 2017 to mid October 2017 due to remodeling work.
